Restore it, Dont part it!
Im curious for yalls opinion on the matter. For a 10:1 compression engine would you go for non ethanol at 89 octane or premium 93 with ethanol?

Yea it was actually a little higher but im calling it 10:1 by my math it is more like 10.3Is your engine a measured and verified 10:1? I didn't think it came out that high.

Lunati VooDoo 702I forget.......what cam again?

Im around 8.3 dynamic at my elevation
I hope not. If so I can go a little thicker on my head gasketsThat may have trouble with pump gas.

I stand corrected it was 8.3 before elevation its 7.8 with elevation. How exactly did you figure DCR? Did you use the camshaft static specs or the installed specs? There's a difference.

I used the specs on the cam card. Divide the intake duration by 2 add the LS subtract 4 for ground in advance subtract 180. Puts me at 59 abdc

At the what? The suspense is killing me! lolI wouldn’t use any low grade fuel. It has a ton of detergents and fillers in it. Use whatever the highest grade fuel at the pump. BTW, a buddy did some pump gas testing around his place (3 hours from me) and found out the most alcohol he found at the

I've always noticed the "up to x% of ethanol" and wondered what the content really was. I think most of ours around here is up to 10%. Also on the e85 I've read a bunch of tests that showed more like high 60s to mid 70s on the ethanol content.I wouldn’t use any low grade fuel. It has a ton of detergents and fillers in it. Use whatever the highest grade fuel at the pump. BTW, a buddy did some pump gas testing around his place (3 hours from me) and found out the most alcohol he found at the pump was 7% and most were under 5%.
He also checked the few e85 fuels he could find none of them were anywhere near 85% ethanol.

89 is the highest non ethanol at the local places i maybe able to go more your way or towards Roanoke and find higher. I was thinking it was 91 but the other day I was pumping gas and noticed it was 89. The regular pump gas is 87,89,93 and NE was 89Anytime you can stay away from ethanol gas, do it. It will deteriorate rubber lines if left sitting, plus the corrosion it leaves on fuel parts sucks. Around here we have 92 or 93 non-ethanol, is your highest octane 89?
We have a small airport nearby wonder if they sell fuelI've seen that link before it's been several years though. Yeah one of them is an airport listed. And several of them report 100 and 110 octane fuel. Some with all three grades available in ethanol free flavors. I'll look in the proximity next.
Not really an option but thanks lol that would be my choice as well93 non ethanol------------
