NOS water pump

I found a water pump for my 1960 slant 6 that is an old rebuild. It looks like a very old rebuild just due to the box and installation manual. My question is how long do you think the seals would be good for in an old rebuilt water pump. I got it for a good price on ebay from a guy who bought out an old warehouse and knows nothing about its age but I am now thinking this may not have been a great idea if it has been sitting for 40 years or something like that. Do I install it and hope for the best or just junk it and buy a new rebuild pump or what ?

I bought this because it was a Core match to the existing pump and I thought I read somewhere in the past that I should try and match the core for this engine for some forgotten reason

Tip the pump down add some antifreeze for lube the slowly turn it clockwise.........the leave it sit a few hours , if no leak should be good, but id probably be worried about the bearing with the grease getting hard and loosing its lubricity..........kim....
