389, not 289. We had a '60 Cat. Grill was way different in 60 from 59, and I liked that better. It was "a hell of a good car." Ours was a 2 bbl, and as I recall it would get 17 and a tad more mpg

The infamous 4 speed hydramatic. Big BIG drop between two gears, 2-3? I don't remember.
