This is actually soothing to my eyes, I thought this technology was being ignored due to it wouldnt be a big business as petroleum is...

But I guess Japan isnt too controled by money!

They should convert all cars with hydrogen cells plus electric while still keeping gas available for those with calssic cars...or we can find a way to convert our cars to burn hydrogen! =D

Wish it was as "green" as it first appears. Most all of the hydrogen that is available at the So. California hydrogen stations is obtained from reforming natural gas, which we get mostly from Canada. So, the petroleum companies still have their hooks in this :(
Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to see these vehicles really take off, but until we can get independent energy suppliers getting hydrogen from solar or wind powered generators, BIG OIL's still got us by the short hairs...

I think it's Greenland or Iceland that has ample supply of hydrogen. Thier electricity is produced geothermally and they get the hydrogen by running electricty through water.Very "green", but I don't see how we could pull that off here.

If we could just turn grass clippings into fuel we would be in
With all the golf courses we have :toothy10:
We could make it happen yea!!, We could make it happen

Ya, and electricity is mostly created from burning coal!

Only 200 units produced within the next 3 years? $600 a month to lease it? Ouch!

If we could turn Al Gore's mouth into an alternative fuel source, we would have plenty of reserve fuel.
If that don't work, Obama can promise us our wildest dreams, and I still think he stole Pedro's voting base.

Cellulosic alcohol. It can be done, but right now the process is too expensive. That's supposed to change in the near future. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cellulosic_ethanol

Who does that song? Now you've got it running thorough my head, lol!

It may shock you to know that switch grass makes better ethanol than corn does. It produces around five times more energy than it takes to grow it. which is way better than corn.

In the near future, I think automobiles will run on electric or propane or
a compressed gas mix thats similiar. propane/methane
Heavy equipment, trucks, tractors and airplanes will stay the same
but more efficient.
Coal, oil, shale about anything you can imagine can
be gasifided.
Anything that decomposes produces combustable gases.
Vegatation, garbage, feces produce in a digester.
I think the infrastrucure of stations will be with this, then maybe hydrogen in distant future.
Carbon credits will be fuel taxes of the future, it allows anything and everything to be taxed.
tax to produce, tax to use, tax to despose of, as your share of the debtrament to the enviroment.
