So I have been on FABO for a while now and dont get on much untill now that I finally have all of my MOPAR parts in my own personal possesion....... I have a demon 340 bored 30 over with J heads, a very short 9 3/8(thank you sr71mopar), a 904 sbm trans, and my hood scoop off of that demon as well. All to sometime be put in my /6 75 Duster

now the serious part, I want to know what my rear ends bolt pattern is, im guessing its stock ford but not sure i measured the studs to be 4 1/4 apart.... also what is the stock length on an a-body rear end so I know how short this thing really is.....I know its REALLY short.

I know there is more but I cant think of the questions right now..... thanks in advance.

Welcome back to A bodies, nice looking Duster

Re-welcome.Love the instruction list you have.Sure,it sounds simple......(lol!)

thanks for the welcomes.

so I measured the rear end and it is 44 1/4 flange to flange. what is the approx stock length anyone know off hand. if not i will put in the tech section.

P.m Crackedback,resident genius.He usually knows,may take time,but accurate.

8 3/4" axle shaft length measured from the tip of the splined end
to the outside of the flange: A BODY '66-'72= 27 11/16"

Housing width, flange to flange: A BODY '66-'72= 52 5/8"

(above from Moparts: http://www.moparts.org/Tech/Archive/axle/16.html)

The rear diff in your picture looks like a narrowed Ford 9 inch.

so basically I have a rear end that is narrowed 7 3/8 inches thanks for the info.
