Notched Air Gap intake which carb base insulator gasket

Edelbrock 1406 carb. Air gap style intake divider is notched about 3/8". Spilt insulator base gasket or 4 hole?

With a notched divider it probably won't make any difference which one you use.
Just my own opinion obviously, but I would use the split.

With the intake notched why would you need a section of gasket through the middle? There's nothing there now to seal against. I'd run an open gasket

You are probably right.
Even though the gasket/insulator type probably would make very little difference a non pinched section could end up coming off and going through the motor.
