So I'll say wow lots a traction on my last thread... Honestly that was a few to many rocket pops and just not a happy day at the shop..

But today is a GOOD DAY! I got off work early and got the front end dam near done.

She still needs some clean up and Dzues fasteners but man it's sexy! I was gonna Dzues the hood to the front clip but now I'm not sure if I just wanna leave it as is or what? I guess in the effort to cut weight i should remove the hinges and pin the hood to the clip.

And for the record I'm not a fan of the corvettes... unless it' a split window.

I have no idea why the last to pics show up? I can't even delete them?

Oh well you get to see my new radiator mount also....

You did go back and look at my post for sure correct? I called it a sham from the get-go. I knew you'd done too much work to this Mopar to give up now. That's like swimming halfway across the ocean and getting tired and swimming back! It don't make no sense....

That was the first I've seen of that tilt front end. That is totally cool!

            Thanks J par!
It's something I been kicking around for a bit. Just got sick of it not being done and got after it
At the big Deanza show last year with a few hundred MOPARS there was none with tilt fronts.
Altho even with all the fab work folks are still afraid to park next to me, like they think the rust is gonna jump on to there trailer queen....
I get to enter "top gun" this year and go against the best of the best so I gotta bring something most folks ain't got!!.

            :)

I think you should pin the hood to the fenders so the whole front end tilts.
Plus it will tie the fenders together so they don’t look like their just hanging out there in space.

              Just my two cents

Had a tilt front end on a 56 Ford Pick up. So nice to sit on the tire and change the spark plugs! My vote is mount the hood to the fenders everything is out of the way while you work on things.

              Looks good!

My vote is to keep it the way it is. I think that looks totally cool and different and I'll say different one more time because I like it that way.

I agree with those that say pin the hood to the fenders ,heck if it's all glass then resin it in , if it's steel weld it, gets it out of the way to work under there and makes it all a little stiffer up there .

I like it the way it is. One piece glass tilt front ends have been done. This is different, and cool.

and totally impractical since you have to climb through the nose or under the hood with one of them always in the way to get at anything , one or the other gives you access , perhaps sometimes there's a reason why people have done things certain ways forever .

Honestly I think whatever you do you're going to have one of the baddest Mopars on this forum! Everything is thought out and custom.

What's the plan for where the cut panels come together when you close it?
                    Just curious.

The cuts line up just fine. Dzues 1/4 turn fastners on the side of the fenders will pin the rear. I may slit some vacuum line and push it over the cuts so it takes up the cut line. The cut is only about 1/16th thick.

The entire front clip is removable. 2 guys can lift it off. It not as heavy as I would have thought.

Any one that has a non removable tilt better be extending the legs on there cherry picker...

I traded a 69 coronet RT for a 68 427 corvette, back in the day. Drove the corvette 23 hrs. and sold it. It was the rattleingest, roughest riding piece of crap I`ve ever owned. The 440 4 speed RT would out run it too.

I stand by post #13. Cut vacuum line...nice. I gutted a trunk lid and did that around the edges and it worked fine.

                      Ah, ok.
I was thinking maybe some aluminum H trim like they use for sheet panels joints.
That would give the cut edge a groove to sit in.

Ha, I was thinking about that today. My car is fully caged that POS would just bounce off..

I did tell pops if that POS leaks on my car we gonna have words.

                        :)
