Hi all, I either a have dementia (or the search engine on FABO is crap!) Cause I searched for my post about factory shock color and came up empty

I posted sometime since late 2019 asking about factory color on factory shocks for a 67 dart. The consensus was black. Last night I found this:

Sellers claim is that shocks came out of factory with any number of shocks installed but the last 2 numbers of the part number should match your build sheet. My build sheet for front shocks shows 45, like number in photo. So should I assume the OEM factory shocks were a gold color? Or is it likely that the part number was the same for years and the color may / did change over the years. ( I will look in parts books for the PN for a few years around 67)

Another thought since these have a box that they are replacements for warn out shocks, perhaps years younger than 67?

The general opinions out there say that the factory installed shocks were painted black and the replacement shocks sold or installed at the dealer were painted that gold color.
I had a 1967 all original Coronet some years back and it still had the factory install shocks when I bought it and they were painted black.

Heavy Duty shocks on performance ie; 340,383,440 cuda's and Darts were black. These probably are not the heavy duty.
