Stock adapter threads are booger'd up on the end, which makes it hard to thread oil filter on. 360 with dual exhaust with stock manifolds. Just a 3/8" ratchet with extension to remove/replace it with a new one?

IF you are lucky, yes
if not, you need a 1 inch socket with the beveled edge ground down to get it off

Hoping to get lucky. The engine has 500 miles on the rebuild.

There were two different styles one internal driven with a 3/8" square drive, or external driven with hex.

It can also be turned around and you only have to mess with those threads one more time. :D

I have one from my old 340 that has good threads with a square drive internal. I was able to get off via the engine stand with a 3/8" ratchet with some mite. I am not sure how difficult with the 360 in the car with the passenger side exhaust.
