Oil for breakin...

I used Joe gibbs for my 340 and Royal Purp for my other motor
 
What I did was the Shell rototella and Comp Cams break in fluid. 1 bottle added in the 5 quarts.
 
Rotella has lowered the amounts of the additives needed for flat tappet motors.

Is your motor a flat tappet or roller cam????
 
I use a good straight 30W, plus Comp cams break in fluid. Changed it out after and run Valvoline VR1 10-30 which still has plenty of zinc.
 
Cool. Is the Brad Penn and Joe Gibbs also good as a every day oil or just for the break-in?? Thanks.
