A bit puzzled on this one. I have oil on the passenger side exhaust burning off, but can't figure out where it is coming from. When it is parked and running no oil drips at all, although I can see where it has hits the exhaust. When stopped I can smell it burning on the exhaust but have yet to see a single drop of oil hit the pipe or ground. Checked valve cover, oil sending unit, took the inspection cover off the the tranny thinking it was the rear seal but nothing comes out. The motor is fresh but hasn't been run much the last few years...

exhaust or closer up on your manifold? head gaskets or the oil pump look at it when its runing

also did you change it recently?

Do you have a 90 degree oil filter adapter? Some of them get cracks and will leak. Tends to leak directly onto the passenger side exhaust, down by the trans.

its down between the tranny and motor. I have the 90 degree oil filter set up, there was a visible leak from it so I replaced the gasket and the leak stopped. Put it up on ramps yesterday and started it not a drop of oil, but then go out and drive it and can smell the oil burning and see it smoking off the exhaust when it is parked. So weird
