oil pan swap

hello, have a 440 in my 68 barracuda, oil pan has split that has got progresivley worse so ive bought a new one see pic ,anyone know if these can be changed in situ or does engine have to be raised etc to allow access, sorry if this sounds dumb,i dropped the engine straight in over two years ago,not given any consideration to pan swap at time

you'll have to drop the steering bars down and that should do it for you.

Kim is right! The 187 pan is what you will need. I got a 7qt from KMJ and had to notch it for the idler arm clearance. I have seen several in the classified forums for around $75....

many thanks for the input, the motor was originally from a b body gtx i believe and know there were no issues <just lucky?> with sump/pan clearance,im going to take a look under there shortly, i cannot get it high enough to swap over, and weather getting crap here in uk so plan was to put it into "regular" garage to swap <ramps etc.>and did not want them getting trouble from it!
