oil pan

Hey,
I know this is a silly question, but in an A body, is the oil pan a front sump or a rear? Does anyone have a pict? I have a truck eng (318) that I am putting in a 73 Swinger. Can I simply turn the pan around or will I need a car pan?

You will need a center sump car pan for a LA (except 360) engine.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if a pan from an M body would work? Diplomats are a dime a dozen at U pull it yards. Any suggestions?

I suspect an M Body pan will work just fine (just don't know for sure). I'd go for it.
