Oil pickup on slant 6

I just want to make sure this is sitting correctly before I put this motor back together. I have a slant 6 that will be going in my 68 valiant after i make it shine like a dime and change the gaskets on it. I pulled the oil pan because it had a huge dent in it. But is the oil pickup suppose to be tilted like this or should it lay straight? i don't want to put the pan back on and then have to remove it to replace this part later on due to low oil pressure.

Put a little grease around the edges of the pickup to check that it touches the pan all the way around.
