oil pump drive

is there a washer that sits over my oil pump drive shaft and then sits on top of the brass bushing,cause my gasket kit has a white/clear looking nylon/plastic washer that fits perfectly over my hardened shaft ,or do you just put it straight in with the steel drive cam gear sitting straight on top of the brass bush??????????????????????????????????????????????:-kengine is 400 big block

I believe there is No washer under the drive gear/shaft.
