I recently saw a TV show where they built a 451 out of a 400. One thing that stuck with me was they had oiling through the push rods AND the rocker shafts. They used ball/ball push rods. Anyone ever done this with a small block? What would the advantages be?:violent1:

Yeah it can be done on a SB if you have lifters that oil the pushrods such as AMC style lifters. The advantage is at high rpm you don't cook the pushrods at the rocker arm end.

I would have the pushrods made with .020 restrictors or so if you are oiling both the shaft and through the pushrods. You won't need the volume if you are just oiling the cup / tip.
This is the same sort of deal as when converting to a magnum head / pushrod oiling , but keeping the shaft oiling too.
