I'm a bit stumped with my temperature sending unit on my '63 /6. It's a USA born Signet. I'm here in Australia. I went and bought a sender unit for the Aussie slant 6 but it as a little piddler compared to the one in my car. I took it back and our books say "slant 6 and V8 Valiant (Aussie) are the same - all years all models".

Over there was there a different sending unit on the early versus late Valiants??????

Our Aussie ones are all 1/8" NPT.
The one that I have looks like maybe 1/4" NPT ?
Can anyone shed some light on this please?
Sure has me stumped!
Oh, and if there is a difference does anyone know the part number for my car, please?
I need to get a replacement ASAP

in 63 they had the large sender here in the US. i cant find on .org where they show the difference, could be im one of my books...

but anyways if SlantsixDan see's this or you PM him he will know a part number

The '63 and older units are bigger than the later ones. They made 3 different brands of senders.... the King-Seeley and Autolite which use the same part# 2240744.....and they also made a Stewart Warner one...# 2256302.
