Old Tire Size Conversion?

-
For the rear, is there a one step smaller , width, size?

I think the G50 is 10 inches wide

I know the car will need a wide tire with the 440, but maybe looking an inch in width will be much cheaper and easily found
these are BF Goodrich 235/60R 14 on factory 14x5.5 rims

Bear with me.........bumping this older thread up so I can get some tires on this car

I pulled the front and rear tires out of storage and aired them up to 32 PSI

Rear G50-14 (Firestone Super Sport) mounted on 14x8s

The front GR70-14 are mounted on factory Ralleys

The rears are a tad too wide for me and I would not mind something smaller

I aired up the tires and placed a level on the tread, and then measured from the ground to the level

Rear: 24-5/8" tall and 10" wide tread
Front: 27" tall and 7-1/4" wide tread

The rears are mounted on 14x8 Indy slot mags

The new front wheels are also aluminum slot mags that are 14x6

Some modern rear tire sizes I have found:
265/50R14: 24.4" x 10.4"
245/60R1: 25.6" x 9.6"
235/60R14: 25.1" x 9.3"

Are there other tire sizes closer to the current rear tire size just not as wide?

Some modern front tire sizes I have found:
215/75R14: 26.7" x 8.5"
215/70R14: 25.9" x 8.5"
205/75R14: 26.1" x 8.1"
205/70R14: 25.3" x 8.1"

Do these still seem TOO wide?

Thanks for helping me out guys
