Old valve stem caps

Hey everyone:

Back in the 70's my grandparent's '73 Plymouth had some interesting valve stem caps. I don't remember much about them other than it seemed like they were long, and the center section, which was gray, depressed inward.

Anyone recall them?

I was gonna say they are extensions for when a tire shop puts short valve stems in that won't stick out far enough past the hubcap. They put these on and you can still check and inflate the tire without removing the cap.
