Without going to a bigger joint, what can I do to increase the strength of my 7260? My current joint has a grease fitting which I've heard reduces strength b/c the joint is hollow. I'm using these straps:

What's the best 7260 joint and strap combination? I probably don't have enough power to break my current setup but a little added insurance doesn't hurt.

It's true about the greaseable u-joints. The are weaker. If you're really worried, just go to a 1350 U-joint. Doesn't cost a lot to upgrade.

Any U-joint that has a grease fitting needs to be "phased". That is, installed with the hole for the fitting under compression. That means when installed, the driveshaft/yoke assembly is trying to squeeze the hole closed instead of pulling the hole apart. If you keep this in mind as you install the joints in their relative positions, your U-joints will take a lot more abuse and be less prone to failure.

as referenced by 412 stoker the u-joint gridles work very well.can be made easily but try e-bay for pricing

Yeah lots of bullshit this week to deal with, to many retarded politicians getting in our way for a new motorsports facility...

Why take a chance on weak joints..if your going to upgrade go right to the 1350 joints and have peace of mind...
