OK I want t paint everything off the car then assemble the sheet metal to the body (64 cuda) but should I not install as much of the window regulator assemblies as possible to minimize scratches, especially on the doors. Can't the window glass (door & quarters) go in after? this would assure no over spray. surly one doesn't have to take the regulators out to replace glass . And what about the dash, Should one try to install things on the dash then mount it in the car ,or install it, then climb under it for all installations ? Any chime in would be helpfull.

Think about it then proceed everyone does it different. A lot easier if you can put things in being as complete as possible

I would jam the car then assemble all the panels back onto the car (doors, fenders, hood and trunk).

Adjust all your gaps then shoot the outside.

That will put you at the lowest risk of scratching or chipping something.

Much of the other stuff really depends on how much time and detail you are willing to put into masking.

No real reason to pull the side glass or regulators out but you do need all the moldings, like the belt molding, off.

I asked about color because if it was a metallic, you must have the car assembled.

thanks 68 ,also I think I will paint the backside of the hood doors and trunk deck at a forward time as well , heck the only paint that shows on the inside of the doors is some gold color at the top.
