Original 4 Speed for 64 valiant?

I am new to the mopar a bodies and was looking at a 64 valiant to buy, I was wondering what was the original model of 4 speed that went into 64 valiants and how hard would it be to find the parts to do a conversion from auto to 4 speed? Do newer 4 speeds and bellhousing work?

Early A body cars have smaller bell housings than 67 up cars. However the later ones do fit with some slight massaging of the firewall to floor pan seam. There is probably enough parts in the for sale section here to get your job done. Also the bell crank is smaller than the later ones as well. But I'm sure you can massage one to fit. You will also need a 4 sp floor hump and I know the later 67 up cars you can buy new and I'm not sure if that part is the same for the early cars. Some one should be able to help you more than me.
