New title...

Thought I might share a photo or two of the KSE tandem belt drive power steering pump/fuel pump I'm going to use for my dirt late model and a shot of the bellhousing and flywheel that it mounts to. Mine uses a Gilmer belt the later ones use an HTD belt.

The transmissions we use are Bert two speeds with straight cut gears (crash box) and an internal hyd. clutch that uses Honda
transmission clutches. You start out in low gear with the clutch pedal pushed in to move...YIKES!!! Hit about 5-15 MPH then you let the clutch out, match the engine to the trans speed and shove it in high... takes some getting used to. This will be my first time driving with one of those set-ups. Stay off the sidewalks!!!

The starter is from a Toyota Hi-lux 22r engine. Slightly modified to work with the Bert bellhousing. The 'made for racing' starters run $150-300... I have a stock Toyota starter that I modded myself... takes a hack saw, file, welder and about 1/2 hour to do. The starters come in 2 HP...1.4 and 1.9. You need the bigger HP one if you have more than 11-1 compression or so. Mine is 13-1 but I have a switch to spin the motor then hit the ignition while it's spinning... should work.

These pix are actually from another shop... I had trouble loading my photos from my phone today. The bellhousings are all the same for Chevy, Ford and Mopar... just drilled different depending on the application. Pretty neat engineering the Canucks do up north. Note the tiny flywheel... Other brands of similar transmissions and bellhousings are made by Brinn and Falcon (Winters).

This is a pretty specific set-up for dirt and I figure many of you have never seen this deal...
