I have a question regarding a 360 build. The engine casting date is 12-4-75.
Basically a 1976 block. I'm concerned about over boring.
Supposedly any 360 block after 1974 has a thinner cylinder bore, and is recommended not to go over a .030 bore. The engine I'm looking at, has been bored .060 over. I plan to race at the track. Is this engine worth my
time and money ?

Can anyone offer views about a .060 over bore on a 1976 360 ?

Well you are on on the thin side for sure on a late block. If you already have it get it sonic wall tested 1st before you spend more $$'s on her.

In most cases .040 is pushing it... You may get lucky though...

I haven't purchased the engine yet. The deal almost sounds to good to be true. So I had to check this out. Anyways thanks for your advice.
