ok me again, I'll try it this way. is 16-17 volts at the battery too much. I'm having problems burnin' voltage regulators for some reason. I got a good ground and also done away with the ballast resistor as I am running an msd .
Maybe your alternator is the wrong one????? I do not know man..... Just a suggestion. You could try to bypass your ammeter gauge and see if that changes the voltage.
