I understand it is on the tag on the inner fender well by the battery. Which #/letter is it ? and what is it for the exterior gold color and black? Anybody know? The car is black but I am seeing signs that it might have been gold originally. (like under the front fender ss trim. I really appreciate the help everyone has given me............. Garry.

The paint code is on bottom right of tag. Under the letters PNT. The 64 code for gold is A and the code for black is B.

Oldschoolcuda

at the risk of sounding stupid my tag says... for "TRM"- P5Y and for "PNT" BBA. Those two codes do not show up in the link grimreaper left for me. I think the closest is P4Y and BB1. Not sure what is going on.

1964 Ply gold poly paint code is AA1 should be on your fender tag as stated bottom right corner.

look like this?
tag.jpg

April 1st, plant production sequence number of 00001 (! WTF !)
2dr sport hardtop V8 (V89)

trim is P4X which is black vinyl (correct)
paint code on mine is NN (silver poly, but when I got it it was copper, should have been HH)

>> if there is something like NN2BB, that supposedly means there is a 2 tone paint scheme:1st is trim or roof and 2nd color is body according to the paint literature. (http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/aclchip.aspx?image=1965-plymouth-pg01.jpg) No way mine was a 4 tone silver top/trim and black body (but that would have been preeety cool!) but it may indicate a silver stripe (not listed in available stripe colors) on a black body??? (didnt have that either...)

1965 fender tag update:in 65, PNT (w/same 5 digits below) expanded to PAINT

P*A*I*N*T

N*N*4*B*B should have been a
NN (exterior silver top, silver bottom)
4 (painted body stripe~1 would be no factory stripe, but could have dealer applied stripe)
B (factory painted black stripe *w/I=4 code)
B (Black upper inner door paint)
Mine was first 401, April fools (!) build: maybe that's why it was metallic copper instead of poly silver.

My fender tag says "TRM - P5Y" and the paint code says "PNT - BB1" So I am going to go with gold interior and ebony exterior.
I am really curious if you or anyone knows what color headliner and carpet are correct for a 1964 barracuda.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

BB1=Ebony P5Y=Gold, you will match carpet and headliner.
