Am converting the front drums on my 69 Dart 340 to discs and was trying to decide what color to paint the items that need to be painted. Was thinking gun metal grey but am open to suggestions. Don't want them to rust..

Make sure to clean the parts well and use etching primer. You can get it in spray cans. It makes a chemical bond to the metal so the paint will stick better.
Some people like Rustoleum Gloss Black for durability. Three thin coats.

Don't know if you are up for it or not, but Eastwood makes a frame paint that is tough as hell.
They say it won't even chip if hit with a hammer, which is a good thing in places that rocks hit all the time.
I have some that I am going to paint my exhaust tips with because they come out the sides in front of the tires and get all the paint chipped off.

This may be helpful to you. I've had it for years and successfully relied on it time and again. (I apologize in advance if the formatting gets weird -- it doesn't copy and paste well on forums so call me if you have questions about something.)

be careful with cast or steel color paints. Some have steel or cast iron powder to give a true cast or metal look and the powder in paint will sometimes rust quite quickly.
Best to clear coat the metal style paints.

Thanks for the chart Leanna!

One question, what does CC: Color Code reference? Example, the Rear End U-Bolts show N/CC.
I understand N = Natural, but what is Color Code? Maybe I'm just a little dense? This came just as I was wondering what color my brake backing plates and front suspension parts should be..........
