Just a quick Question? I picked up a used but nice grill for my Duster and I want to repaint it but I want to paint it properly. What prep work do I need to do?I was wondering what is the best quality paint to use- (Paint that will not flake/chip off) and the proper way to mask the grille to paint the Black and Silver Argent properly? Any pictures of Duster Grills from 73'-74' era would be welcomed so I can get an idea of the proper paint scheme. Would I use dark Silver Argent or Light? What about the Black Semi Gloss or Flat? Thank You.

i painted mine a while ago, just a cheap job, kind of a custom look. i painted the whole thing duplicolor textured silver, and then taped off the outer surface and painted the rest duplicolor textured grayish black. i painted the bezels the same color, and i think it looks good. masking tape and a razer blade did me fine
pic , but kind of at an angle

Cool!!!!! Thats exactly the look Im going for. Thank You!!!!!! FABO members rock!!!!!!

Did you mask the front of the grille completely? or tape it off and trim the edges?

i taped off the outer edges with 1/8th inch msking tape and then just trimmed it with a single edge razor
