I'm looking to repaint rally rims and I'm wondering what primer to use on the rims? I'll be sandblasting the rims down and repainting with OER argent silver paint. Should I use a zinc phosphate primer first? Or what do you advise? Thank you for your help.

Lately I've been using U-POL acid etch on all my bare metal. I really love it. I Goes straight into the gun, no mixing, covers great, and smells like hell (MASK) I have also gotten it in an aerasol but it is expensive, like 18 bucks. A spray able qt. Is like 28 from TP tool.

I found if I apply a light coat of a silver paint before applying the argent, It comes out tons better as it is very transparent and can be runny. The base coat will give better coverage and require a lot less argent. Spray the argent from a distance 2 or 3 light coats should do it, some heat will help.
