Panel gaps

Hi, can anyone tell me what size the panel gaps should be on my 67 dodge dart? as i'm going to try and set the gaps before i start bodywork, should the, rocker to door, door to quarter, fender to cowl, fender to hood, etc.. all be the same gap?

Can't say for sure on the gaps, but hang your doors first and get them right, fenders next and then hood.

Don't worry about what the factory did. Just make nice gaps. Factory production tolerances were something crazy like 1/4" +/- 1/8".

Thats good to hear cause I've been having a heck of a time getting my gaps all the way I want.
You have a good idea, get your gaps right before you do your bodywork and paint.
I screwed up, cause I have everything all painted and buffed out, now I dont like my gaps.

Passenger side is nice. tight gap between fender and door, and a slightly bigger one at the back of the door.
Drivers side I have almost a 3/8" gap at the front and back of the door. But the front of the fender is even with the front of the hood. And I cant slide the fender back farther cause it will run into the cowl, and the front of the fender wouldn't be even with the front of the hood anymore. Only thing I can figure out is that the drivers door needs to be longer !

I could weld a 1/4" extension on the back edge of the door, but then I'd have to repaint the door. I"ll probably just live with it, but I hate that I have nice gaps on one side, and big gaps on the other side.

Thanks, I started setting them to 3/16, but wanted to know for sure before i start grinding or welding any of the gaps.
