Hi! I'm in the process of stripping my '64 Valiant down for media blasting and the last piece I have to remove is parking brake cable, and I'm having a devil of a time with this one more where the housing joins the frame rail just before the C splitter. I can force it, but I want to make sure I'm not damaging anything.

Fortunately for these purposes, the floor is rotted out over rail, so we get a nice top view.

Anyone have any advice for getting this last bit out?

Thanks!

Disconnect the inner part of the cable and slip an appropriate size box wrench over the end ( I think it's 1/2 inch ) and push it down over the end and compress the locking tangs and pull the cable through the bracket or backing plate.
