This might have been asked before but I'm kinda new here. Have a 1965 273 Barracuda and want to replace the valve covers. Summit Racing sells a Billet pcv valve that I would like to use. Other than fit is a pcv valve a pcv valve or are they made for certain engines?
Thanks Bill

I think they are pretty generic. One thing to look for is that there is a baffle below the PCV valve to keep oil from flicking into it. Many after-market valve covers don't have that. There is a rubber grommet w/ a built-in baffle you can use. Pretty sure you can't use the PCV valve that is standard for you car, because in 65 that fit in a metal cap on a metal stove-pipe on the valve cover.

The one I'm looking at needs a rubber grommet that fits in a hole in the valve cover then the chrome PCV vale would push into the grommet.

They all need a rubber grommet. What I am saying is that if there is no metal baffle under the hole, you need a special rubber grommet that has an integral rubber baffle. Most people don't know that (I didn't). If not, oil will get into the PCV and your car will be a mosquito fogger.
