anyone know what year these pedals came out of? and if they will work in a 72 swinger?

They look like A-body pedals to me. Based on the clutch safety switch I'd say probably '70+. Should work fine in your '72, all of the A-body pedals are interchangeable 67+. I forget the cut off for the safety switch but the first couple of years didn't have them. There was an HD pedal set up that had a longer lever arm on the clutch pedal and an extra brace, but even those interchange with everything else.
