People suck

I agree, a negative attitude will only get you no where. It's a shame that your car was hit and they didn't leave you any information. I don't know where you were when your car was hit but you might what to change areas where you park. One advantage I have is I have handicap plates on the wife's car and a placard for my truck, handicap parking spots are bigger than a normal parking spot, I know that's no excuse for what someone did to your car. I mentioned earlier to see if the place you parked has cameras and you can get a camera for your car and set it up to record even when your not in the car. I realize that you have a right to drive your car where you want to but store parking lots are a bad place for parking as that's where the biggest amount of idiots are. You might want to get your self a beater car for grocery shopping and going to your favorite hardware store.
I bought it to drive. If it just sits, I'd rather sell it.

My ratty Barracuda … and is the most fun car I have ever owned.
Ditto! A guy was trimming a tree with one of those mowing decks mounted to a shovel boom next to the road as I drove by (honking) last week. Last night followed a dude with a fart can that kept popping it until it exploded. Chunks everywhere. Ya can’t win, drive junk, repair, paint, repeat…

I’ve said this before but the high impact colors are douche magnets

Working on it now. Not going to know much on a weekend.

The straw just broke the camels back. I give up. I can't have nice things.

Naah, the problem is I don't think that way. I'm much too optimistic.

Nothing that won't get me arrested will make the situation better.
So sell every nice thing you own and live under a bridge for the rest of your life? Not sure what you were looking to get out of starting this thread, but your pissy attitude is a poor way to garner sympathy.

First and foremost I agree, that sucks and people absolutely suck.

I bought it to drive. If it just sits, I'd rather sell it.

Then don’t even worry about it. I wouldn’t even report that damage to my insurance, they’ll just raise your rates and the damage appears to be entirely cosmetic. Bang out the hood so it closes ok and rattle can it black. Little touch up paint on the green part and away you go, just keep driving it. Now you’ve got a dent, no reason to worry about another one.

Probably can’t even see it from the drivers seat!

My Duster has plenty of minor dings and scratches, plus some slowly expanding rust in the lower rear quarters. All cosmetic. You drive a car, it wears out. It collects dents and scratches. Stuff needs to be fixed. At some point you R&R it and start driving it again. Drive, fix, drive some more, fix some more, and so on and so forth. Otherwise you’re just another asshole with a nice car collecting dust in the garage that no one gets to see and just rots away.

Wearing and rusting and getting dinged up on the road or time rotting in a garage, nothing stays perfect. Might as well enjoy it!

I never said not to drive it, I did say that you might what to change areas where you park at. You can expect things to happen, it's not going to stay new for ever, who ever hit it did wrong without a doubt chuck it up as another experience Get it fixed and continue to enjoy it.

The only nice thing I have is my Duster. I don't GAFFAARD about sympathy, I'm just pissed off and disgusted. And need a hood.

Grille mounting tab is broken (I have another grille), hood and fender damaged, hood sprung, bumper scraped. Hood needs to be replaced, then I can sell it.

There's nowhere else to park at work.

I see opportunity! Pick up a Glass Hood with the built in six pack scoop. Maybe you could even get a new (or used) Fender> it will look better than ever

The hood is repairable.
The hood has at least three coats of paint and a poorly-installed scoop.

Already has a Demon scoop. More likely, I'll get a flat hood. Fortunately, I'm doing Carlisle. In a few weeks.

Fender looks pretty jacked up. It looks like a trailer may have backed into you. I'm no forensic scientist.

Go to the show and have fun, It's extremely hard to win anyway

It happened at work and I'm sure that nobody saw anything. So you're gonna get it fixed and sell it. This is just my opinion, but where you work is the last place to drive a car to. I'd have a beater for going back and fourth to work.

Yet again: I bought it to drive. If it just sits, I'd rather sell it.

That probably is his "beater" got a Maserati in the stable. LOL

Suit yourself. Car has minor damage, easily fixed especially to a level of a driver.

The hood is repairable.

Yeah exactly. Wouldn’t be hard to get it functional again, and if it’s about driving it then that’s all it needs to be.

I love driving my Duster to work. The more you drive something, the more chances there are for something to happen. But that’s life. A tree could fall on your garage, then what? You lose the car and never had any fun. Drive, repair, drive, repair, so on and so forth. Nothing is permanent.

What classic car do you have that you don’t drive anywhere Dan?
Yet again: I bought it to drive. If it just sits, I'd rather sell it.

So spend ten minutes banging it back into shape and drive it. Sheesh. Sounds to me like you’re more concerned about some minor cosmetic damage than you are about driving it.

Sorry this happened, but if that’s all it takes to throw in the towel then your heart wasn’t in it anyway.
