I'm trying to find a slightly higher stall torque converter for my 273 Commando powered Barracuda. This is a 64 with pushbutton trans with the 18 spline input shaft. The transmission is already rebuilt and ready to go and I don't want to tear it down to replace the input shaft with a later model fine spline one. Where can I get a nice street converter with maybe 2000 stall?

The pre 67 has the small diameter crankshaft register as you already know. You most likely are going to have one built. Dynamic comes to mind! Talk to them give them your engine build specifications and they'll recommend a stall. That little 273 Commando won't make power til 3000-3500 RPM. 65'

Commando, unfortunately, Kris at Continental sold it/shut it down, moved to Texas and I heard he passed away a while back. Not sure if his replacement is still in action as the shop's location was to be bought up by a business development or something similar.
