I have installd a petronix 1ignitor kit on my 318 to replace the points now I have the 1.5 ohm flame thrower coil does anyone know if I'm supposed to bypass the ballast resistor

I think the Pertronix 1 is the same wiring as original...but it's been a LONG time since I used one. They have a help line.

If you use the pertronix coil with the flamethrower coil, no ballast is necessary according to their instructions

Ok thanks guys one last question whch ballast resistor one has two wires on top of wiper motor the other has 4 by drivers side fender I really don' wanna chase the wire afraid of breaking wires lol

Looks like drivers side fender. Hard to tell everything painted black.

you dont need to mess with ballaster just hooked up red and black goes to neg that it you are done . I have pertronix never given me a trouble at all .
