Anyone have a good photo of how the power steering hoses are routed on a '64-6 A-body with a 273? This thing was a basket case when I got it and all my other '66's are manual steering. Trying to keep the hoses away from the exhaust manifold the best I can. I have the correct pump, fittings, reproduction hoses, and even the little hose bracket on the K-member. Looks like either the return hose has to go low under the battery tray, or up before the tray and loop over. The pressure hose looks to go down there too near as I can tell, and seems to fit there ok. Low on the return hose would keep it away from the exhaust manifold better, but, it looks a bit silly that way......not that the other way looks a lot better.

I just looked at an old photo that Ulf posted and it shows both hoses going forward from the pump, and then curving back down under the battery tray and back to the control valve. That's pretty much what I figured, but, I just wanted to be sure. If anyone else has a photo of theirs, or, knows for sure that something else is correct, please let me know before I cut the return hose to length. Thanks.

Mine is probably not a factory set up. But the routing works for me. Ignore the nasty battery cables. I'm saving up for a new one, lol.

Here is my 66’ with the 273 before the complete rebuild. Factory hoses. Engine is sitting on the k frame. Out of the car.
