Pick Up Tube!

I noticed that the oil pan is very close to the pickup tube. The previous owner of the engine actually had the pick up tube so close to the drain hole bolt it put a mark in it. I turned the pick up a little and it clears the drain bolt but seems too close to the bottom of the pan. Anybody every shorten one? Any ideas? I could fabricate the pan deeper but not sure I want to go that route. Thanks!

On a side note, I can slide a small piece of welding wire into the drain pan hole and it will go under the pick up screen but that is the only clearance I have.

Good thing I had two other tubes to choose from! Problem fixed.
