I got a Holley 350 2 bbl carburetor for my /6 Duster, but being a non OEM size, I'll have to get an air cleaner for it. I was looking on Summit Racing, and the choices are more than I thought they'd be.

First, I don't want any chrome. I hate added chrome on cars.

Second, diameter. I'll have to go measure the stock 1 bbl air cleaner, as it has to fit behind the A/C compressor.

Third, the whole drop measurement. Base Dropped Distance on the Summit Racing website. My Holley 350 has the electric choke on it, any guess as to a safe drop amount?

It needs to fit under a stock 1973 Duster hood without hitting, and no modifications. Having to add a spacer / adapter plate to bolt the 350 to an OEM iron Super Six intake makes the drop more important.

Here is something like what I'm looking for. What about the air filter that comes with it? Is it any good, or is it just a junk cheap restrictive generic filter that needs changed?

I'd prefer one that has the filter enclosed, so you don't see it from the outside, like an OEM air cleaner, but space is an issue.

Take a trip to the boneyard, find a '90s Dakota with the 3.9 V6 or the 5.2 V8, and snag it's air cleaner.
Your Holley takes an air cleaner with a 5 1/8" opening, which happens to be standard for most 4 bbls. and coincidentally, the same as the throttle body on Magnum V6s and V8s.
The air cleaner will look dead stock (because it is) and has filters that are available at any auto parts store.

And if you're feeling adventurous, it comes with a detachable fresh air inlet hose that you can route to an inconspicuous inlet area, or leave off entirely.

Best of all, they're cheap. I know prices vary, but I get them around here for $15-$20.
