Anyone here have a source for obtaining just shims for setting up pinion depth ? I would like to get locally, but haven't had any luck only through mail order and I'm no longer comfortable giving info over the net, Tried the various chain stores but no one stocks or can get a shim kit, only the complete ring and pinion install kits, which I don't need or want to spend the money on that kit for only what I need. Diff in question is a 741 case 8/34, thanks..

Thanks may have to do that, another option.
I have gotten shims for the inner bear at the local farm supply store. never checked but they may have the front shims also. They are in the pto drive shaft, bearing and u-joint area.

Advance Auto Parts can get parts, Got our full Motive bearing kit there and they can get just the shims.

order from Summit Racing --- RAT - 1109 -- $13.00 -- I believe 8.2 10 bolt GM will work also.
