Need some help finding a good set of pistons for a 400 chrysler engine. Standard or .030 is fine. I cut the ridge and hitthem with a hone and they look like new but if i need to hit .030 thats cool. Looking at 9.0-10.0 compression ratio. Id like to use Keith Black pistons but the ones i've seen had differnt compression height than stock. Standard stroke and stock rods. Doesn't seem like many 400 pistons out there so I guess i'll figure out heads after i get a piston purchased. Thanks so much guys and look forward to your reply

Your going to want something with a different compression height than stock. Stock 400's had under 8:1 compression so the Keith Blacks would probably be a good choice for you. Your going to want something with a CH of about 1.95 to get the compression you want if I did the math right.

Keith Black has 400 pistons in the HyperU series. Stock stroke and stroker pistons are made there. The stock stroke 400 pistons have a taller height to gain compresion if that was what your wondering about???????

I believe there made to be a zero deck piston.

Edit, an addition....

Now that I see Baxters post, I have a '78 - 400 that I took apart and measured up. My ratio was 7.8-1 on a P code 4bbl. engine.
( P code ='s performance. But what do you want for 1978?)
