Plasma moly top piston ring.

Does [FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]plasma moly, on a piston ring, look shiny like chrome, or dull and black?

I ask, becouse my machines gapped my ring for me. I question if top and 2nt ring sets are in the proper packages?

cast iron rings are black. Moly would be the shiny chrome look

If I were you I'd double check the gaps to make sure they did them right. Only takes a few minutes and is good insurance

Also there's sometimes a dot on top of the ring. If so, make sure it's facing up when installed.

That's what made me question it in the first place.

Instruction say if it has a mark, face it up.
IF no mark you should face the inner bevel up on the top ring and down on the 2nt ring.

It has a mark on it, but bevel is down on the top ring and up on the 2nt ring. This is why i questioned if the ring were placed back in there proper bags aka 1st and 2nt ring
