Turbo the /6 and get a over drive unit for it, the less harder the engine needs to work the more efficient it will be. talk to some guys on the turbo section and see what their fuel mileage is doing with their /6

Junkyard the power train out of a 318/ 360 dakota. I was real close to doing that with my dart.

If you can find a 80 something F body, try the 318 engine and lock up trans out of that.
Put a 4v carb and intake on it.
I've put almost 80 miles a day on one for 15 years.
It's bullet proof.
I only get 23 MPG though.

If I ever pull the slant out of my 64 it will have a LS 3 in it....Screw the purist.
