Ok, I am seriously thinking about doing this. I am not sure what to use as a liner.

Has anyone ever made a swimming pool in their truck.

I think this one of the best ideas I have seen in awhile and I want to try it out but I am not sure what materials I need.

I have a 3/4 ton pickup that I can use and it will hold the weight of the water and I like the idea because I can park the truck in the garage and have shade and privacy and still get in the nice cool water. :D

Any ideas?

A good tarp should do it. You just need one large enough so once it's in and you start filling it, it doesn't pull the sides and ends down.

Pics are a must! :D

How about going on Craigslist and seeing if someone is selling an old pool cheap. One with the liner of course. That way you can get something made to hold water in. I had a friend who did that for a backyard koi pond. Got it very cheap. Hardest thing was digging the hole.

Tom and company were driving around Chrysler Carlisle this year with one in the bed of his truck made from a tarp seemed to work fine until the higher ups put an end to the fun said it was a liability issue

Rani, just come over to my house for a swim whenever it gets hot out! You're always welcome, as are all of you FABO brothers and sisters!

Too bad there is only one week left to swimming season.:wack:

We get one of these every couple of years. We get the 8' diameter that's 30" deep. Comes with filter pump and all. Usually around 39 bucks. If you put a canopy over it, that keeps it from getting too hot in the summer.

When I was in college, there was a house off campus where some of the students lived. They used to throw theme parties about once a month or every other month.

One of their parties, they set up an above ground pool in the basement of the house. They pretty much knew what kind of people would show up and planned "for disaster". They calculated how much water would fit in the pool. Then they figured out how deep it would be if all the water would somehow "end up on the floor"...

So they calculated how deep the water would be in the basement and put the washer and dryer up on blocks and anything else that shouldn't get wet. Sure enough, at about 11 PM everyone got together and made a whirl pool by walking in the same direction around the perimeter inside the pool, creating a vortex in the center. The walls of the pool soon gave out and all the water spilled out.

Luckily, their calculations were correct, and the water didn't reach any of the appliances that couldn't get wet. Everyone went upstairs for about an hour until all the water drained and then went back downstairs to party some more...

Work hard, party hard...

They threw some great parties...

Have made one in the back of a 5 ton dump truck. Was hotter than stink at a field exercise and a bunch of bored joes around. We found an old water blivat like a pond liner worked great just had to watch out for that first step out!!!
