I have been using POR so far, but the stuff is expensive, rustoleum is less expensive so.....is POR really the best? I know it doesn't have much UV protection, but other than that what are your thoughts.

POR15 is easily 100 times better than Rustoleum. I've used both and there simply is no comparison. You get what you pay for. The only drawback to POR15 is no UV protection but you can paint over it with other paint for the UV protection.

Whether or not POR15 is the best I don't know but I do know Rustoleum isn't what it's cracked up to be and nowhere even in the same league as POR15.

Here's an example of how good POR15 is. The guy that introduced it to me a few yrs. back had a rod iron stair railing going down into his basement and every year he had to take it out and scrape and repaint it using Rustoleum. He found POR15 at a car show and used POR15 on it and 10 yrs. later there's still not a spot of rust on it.

try rust bullet...ive used it with very good results
