Por 15

I painted the under side of my hood with por 15 . My question is can I paint car color over that or do I need to opoxy coat first and then paint ?

Should be able to paint over. Did a 70 torino floorboard in por15 primed and painted over.

So did you primer over the por 15 and then paint or just paint color on the por 15

DO NOT paint over POR-15 until it is scuffed very well and epoxy primed!

They make there own self etching primer I believe, tiecoat... or something like that.

i used it on the bottom of my demon. waited 3 hours til it tacked up and epoxied it and painted it. i ve never painted over it after it has cured out. heard its a mother to get anything to stick to it after its cured tho. i bought a set of control arms that were "blasted and por15d". i wanted to be sure so i tried to blast the por15 off and recoat with por15. it wouldn t come off. i just blasted them and recoated with por15. tough as nails. i know that

Good product. But That stuff dries hard !!!!! Your going to have to scuff the holy day lights out of it.

Yep scuff it well and epoxy on top if it's preped well you can do a wet on wet with the epoxy.

You guys were rite . Por 15 is as hard as nails . I tried 220 grit first . Nothing lol. Had to scuff it up with 80 grit . It turned out good . After letting it set over night there was fish eyes all over the por 15 . Not sure why . But they sanded off and opoxy covered good.

Nice. Unfortunately I had a bad experience with POR so I don't use it anymore but it looks like it worked for you so that's great. Good luck with your progress.

The very bad thing about POR-15 is that the fumes are strong/toxic and are orderless and THEY will knock you one your ***. You MUST use a good respriator at ALL times. Even for a very small touch up.
