Why is the positive battery post turning black in my 67 Barracuda? I can clean it up with sandpaper but it just turns black in a short while. The battery is a refurbished one, don't know if that's the reason.... any suggestions???

Cover it with dielectric grease or vasoline. Corrosion is worst on the positive terminal. This is normal.

Turning black is an indication that the sulphuric acid inside the battery is leaking out of the shell (as a gas) very near the battery post.

Replacement is an individual choice at this point since it sounds like it is still working. If show car I'd lean towards yes since sulphuric acid in either liquid of gas form can do a lot of damage to nice paint.
