Post Your Vintage Drag Racing Pics!!

I was at the strip for Evel Knievel's jump. I didn't even know he was going to be there. It was a side show that wasn't needed to bring in people. The dragstrip was very popular back then and I was there for the racing, the sights sounds and overall excitement of being within feet of some of the best racers in the world. Then they started putting houses all around it and fun was done! I moved near by in '75 and could hear the funny cars and top fuel dragsters when I woke up Sunday mornings. Sadly it all came to an end in '76. I still live in the same house but have bitter feelings about the dragstrip being shutdown.

Would take much bigger cajones than mine to pilot this thing.

We were at Orange County Int Raceway for one of their Nitro Match Race Shows.
Gary Beck rolls out to stage, burn-out, pre-stage, GREEN, BANG! goes the blower.
We watched the blower fly so high it disappeared into the darkness.
We never did see where it came down. :realcrazy:

I went to a drag racing memories show today and picked up some pictures of my buddies from back in the day.

These are pictures of my car and my friend's 73 Roadrunner. We ran as a team in the weekly bracket racing.
