Need to replace my p/s box(72 dart v8).Svc manual says drop steering column. Is that needed? the coupling has what appears to be a roll pin attaching it to the steering box,punch that out,slide coupling up out of the way. Remove hoses and mounting bolts and pull box out. Does that sound correct??

That should work, however sometimes the collar will not slide back far enough.
Thanks for the s for the help. Just ordered the replacement box today,will tackle removal over the weekend.
Pop the pin out pull the bolts out drop steering linkage will drop the steering linkage first and then pull the bolts out it'll pull right out
