On a 74 Duster with power steering, I'm switching to manual steering.
While having some difficulty getting my steering column out, I had to cut the coupling to get it done. Now when I am looking to get a new PS coupling, I see part# 3579522 which should fit just about any Mopar car from 66-82 as well as trucks and vans 66-93. This 3.5" was commonly used from 73-93 and is the coupling that was, on the car.
In order to do the swap I need an adapter which I do have. Now there is a 3" PS coupling that fits many cars truck and vans, including 66-76 A body cars. For some reason, my ADHD won't let find that part #, nor can I figure out which one I should use.
Thanks

So, you were originally going to use the old P/S column as is, but, had to cut the coupler to remove the column and remove the steering gear? Now, you just want to replace the coupler, install a manual steering gear, and use an adaptor to take up the length difference? If so, why not just measure the length of the old coupler to get a match?

Reading vendor parts descriptions, leads you to believe that the parts are either compatible or not. The information is conflicting.
Even the coupling rebuild kits are the "same but different"
I think they both will work as the couplings takes into account the difference in the length of various steering columns and the depth of the coupling. I have the adapter on hand and ordered a new 3.5" and rebuild kit from Mancini.
